To become a Member of NMOTA you must be an Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Student enrolled in an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. New Mexico residency is not required.
The principal requirement is that All Members (except students) should have been certified by an accredited institution or licensed or regulated by a state, commonwealth, district, or territory of the United States to practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant - As long as that person has not had their certification or license revoked, they are eligible to become NMOTA members.
