When: February 15, 2023 7:30am - Noon, 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Where: Park and Meet at 7:30 at Open Circle (645 Webber St. Santa Fe, NM 87505) From there, we will walk together to the New Mexico State Capitol: the Roundhouse


Why: Empower our profession through advocating for support or opposition by NM State Legislators and Representatives on laws that affect OTs/OTAs and the people we serve.

  1. Be a part of meeting NMOTA’s Mission: To articulate the distinct value of occupational therapy in achieving and maintaining quality of life through occupations that promote recovery, rehabilitation, and health.

  2. Learn how to contact your elected officials in person and in writing to advocate for causes that are important to you. 

  3. Develop a greater understanding of how policy and law affects the scope of practice of occupational therapy in NM as well as the people we serve.

  4. NMOTA Members earn up to six (6) Continuing Education Units while networking with OTs, OTAs and OT/OTA students. (Continuing Education Credits were requested in 2022 with the final answer from the State Board still pending)

  5. The first 150 people to arrive receive NMOTA Pins!

How to Sign Up: 

  1. Look up your NM Representative and Senator

  2. Complete the NMOTA Sign-Up Form (You will fill in your senator and representative information on this form):
